I qualified in medicine in 2012 and completed foundation training in the East of England. I then completed core surgical training as an academic clinical training, after which I decided to re-focus my career on public health. As a bridge to switching careers, I completed a PhD at the Global Surgery Unit at the University of Birmingham. I then undertook public health medicine specialty training. I have worked across the NHS, local government, central government, and academia.
