Following from the review of the Bhangu lab's 2024, here are my thoughts lookng ahead to some of our targets for 2025...

• Accelerate Dragon, our cluster randomised trial comparing clinical, cost, carbon outcomes for reusable versus single use drapes and gowns. Dragon opened in late 2024 priming us to work towards our recruitment target of 26,800 patients!

• Complete data collection for Alligator, a global cohort study led by Teddy Anyomih looking at appendicectomy. 

• Complete three pilot RCT protocols looking at reducing deaths in em emergency surgery, increasing access to CT imaging, improving antimicrobial stewardship.

• Continue to develop our understanding of energy security challenges and solutions in the Global South.

• Celebrate two of our fellows submitting their PhD theses!
